8 move checkmate, in 3D Chess

8 moves to checkmate - 3D chess

The above picture is a total of 8 moves to checkmate.

So it takes double the amount of moves to achieve the same thing in a flat board (2D game). However, the entire 3D game still takes the same number of moves and time to complete. Here are the 8 moves (A = top board, B = bottom board):

Be2-Be3     white centre pawn moves 1 square
Bb1-Bc3     white knight moves out
Bb2-Bb3     white pawn moves 1 square
Bc1-Ba3     white bishop moves out – future defense
Bd1-Bf3     white Queen moves out
O-O-O        Queen side castle
Bd2-Ad4    pawn opens the door, rook prevents the King from dropping down
Bf3-Bf8++  Checkmate!

I wanted to do a live-stream video or a pre-recorded video of a 3D chess game being played out, but there were problems and I hope someone can figure them out or come with some solutions. Here’s the problems:

  1. The glass top board has reflections (difficult to see through – that can be resolved)
  2. It’s recorded in 2D and viewer loses depth of field, therefore it looks confusing
This is what I mean by the above problems. Here is the above 8 moves in a 2 minute video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AClE03b0R6k&t=9s
